Delegation from Britain’s Strathclyde University visits XJTU

On September 26, the Vice Principal of Strathclyde University, Professor Kenneth Miller, together with the Executive Dean of the School of Engineering Professor Scott MacGregor, the Head of EEE Department Professor Stephen McArthur and the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Professor K L Lo visited XJTU. They were welcomed by Deputy Party Secretary Gong Hui in room 201 of the Science Hall, where they signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities.  


According to the agreement, third year students in engineering from XJTU can apply for a 3+1+1 program and fourth year students can apply for a 4+1 program. Upon completing the required courses, the students will receive Bachelor’s degrees from XJTU and Master’s degrees from Strathclyde University. The agreement also provides for a variety of other programs, including joint tutoring for doctoral students and mutual teacher exchanges. Deputy Party Secretary Gong Hui and Vice Principal Kenneth Miller signed the agreement on behalf of their respective universities after which they discussed the possibilities for further research cooperation and exchanges of various kinds.
